In the past few months, I was offered three major TV opportunities. I turned them down. One was a tough decision because it would have entailed traveling around the world--Borneo, Thailand, New Zealand, Tahiti...--and doing a serious documentary on tattoo cultures. A very sexy offer but then it would have meant putting everything I've worked for--including my marriage--on hold for some time just for 15 minutes of fame. So I said no.
These decisions become tough because we're inundated with media of people who have done nothing at all really but have become rich and famous. It's all very seductive. But then everything has a price and I've worked too long to create a drama-free life to lose it so quickly.
I will get my *five minutes* of fame though. Al Gore's Current TV, which won an Emmy this past year, will be showing a five-minute piece on me for their Maverick series. I suppose tattoo-blogging lawyers are considered mavericks these days. How sad. But I'm happy to be on the show. Will post the air and online times soon.
It may just air when I'm in NYC next month so maybe I'll have a little viewing party. I'm back in Brooklyn December 20th for the holidays and Dan joins me a week later because he wants to spend Xmas with his son, which is all cool. I be working on an art show in January and may head to LA for a week. If so, I plan to kidnap Fractal and her ugly cat when I'm there.

When are you going to be in NYC? I'm visiting my mom in Brooklyn right now for the next few weeks. Email me, I won't be at my computer much but that will go directly to my phone.
