Change is the only constant.
I recently separated from my husband. Tomorrow I leave on this epic road trip with my son back home to NYC - where I plan to stay for the first time in 14 years.
I left my gallery dream job.
I recently started an online gallery with a good friend. Our focus is on Contemporary and Conceptual art. You can view the "soft opening" here - Rafael Luz. We'll be having 4 pop up shows a year and the first is this coming May, in NYC. 119 Ludlow. I'll keep you posted on the details as they emerge.
Puerto Rico needs your help.
For those of you who may have missed the memo, I am Puerto Rican. I grew up in NYC, but I am second generation and have loved ones on the island. It is hard to express in words how angry, hurt, afraid...disregarded I have felt over the devastation of the storm, how the President has handled this and how some fellow Americans have reacted/responded to this natural catastrophe. I have sent supplies to family - I hope the packages are not stolen and if they are, I can only hope it goes to people in more need. This past Thursday, there was the Benefit for Puerto Rico here in Santa Fe, NM that I organized and we raised just over 1k to send to the Hurricane Maria Community Recovery Fund. When I'm back in NY, I hope to organize something larger.
Love you all,
Mariposa
P.S. I will be in OKC tomorrow, Memphis Tuesday, Nashville - Asheville Wed, Thurs. What should I do, see, eat, visit???
