Let's get all this rain out of the way early in the week so that when Sunday comes around we can get on with the Bright Explosive Glory Sunshine. Today I cycled home through a cold and wet downpour, but I really didn't mind so much. It's always OK if you are on your way home and you know there is warmth and a change of clothes at the other end. Then you can let the rain come down, run down the lines that lead from cheek to jaw to neck. Big fat drops that remind me of swimming in the pond and just being wet all through.
This week is also about dark and dirty and dancing macabre. Firstly it started with the Dead Brothers, and then last night I went to see the Shunt cabaret. An absolute perfection of wry grins from the walking dead, beautiful creatures composing shapes with their bodies of muscle and curve, gallows humour, all flashed onto my retina by the most incredibly perfect lighting display I have ever seen. The venue: a dark and dank and dusty old railway arch in London. The music and sounds were just perfect too. I'm telling you one thing for sure: these guys shit all over that Cirque du Soleil crap. I know some people like that stuff, but for me it is all too clean and detached and family-entertainment lite. Shunt are everything Cirque du Soleil should be.
I have these two conflicting aesthetics: one is all macabre and sly and dark corners with lurking be-hatted and feathered ladies, the other is all blue skies and clouds and trees and soaring birds.
I feel a bit like I'm missing out here at the moment... I have accumulated this group of very intelligent and sensitive and just plain clever friends here, and I never get a chance to talk to any of you properly, nor read your journals. Hey ho, that's the way it goes sometimes.
I took some photos to submit to the site last week. I'm not sure if they're good enough. I'm going to show them to a friend tomorrow and see what she thinks. Maybe I should just submit them anyway. I will keep you all up to date with the humiliation - they will probably get rejected. But I think it's probably healthy for me to live this humiliation out here.
I need to get my shit together with scanning photos so I can put something new up here. Soon.
They say that Sunday will be Sunny and 25˚C. Please let them be right for once.
Update:
It is done! I sent the photos! Excited and scared! Showed them to my best friends today, and they reckoned the photos were good, and good enough to go on the site... we'll see!

Oooh! I can't wait for a peek. I hope it's more than I see at Ladies Pond.
