I'm doing this program on Black History Month, but being extremely white, I'm feeling kind of weird about it. Even worse, perhaps, is that I feel genuinely sad that nobody knows shit about MY culture. My family is from Luxembourg. how many kids actually know about the freakin' Grand Duchy? I propose a forgotten countries month where all the kids have to learn about places like the Benelux region, Seychelles, Chad, maybe Myanmar (always some fun political unrest to discover). At least I had "WHere in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" to help me along. These kids today, I tell ya....
