About 10 years ago my cousin (who was the same age as me) thought it would be a really cool idea to trace back our family tree.

I knew this was practically an impossible task, as our grandparents came from a very small village in Greece that was at the top of a mountain and and all their birth records were destroyed in a church just before they migrated to Australia.

To my surprise a few months later, he not only traced back our family tree but connected our family to Alexander the Greats.

It turns out his mother was born in the same village our ancestors were born in! Okay, so I'm not like directly related or anything... But I think it's pretty fucking cool.
