I can never really tell what's going to effect me. I had no idea I would tear up with joy when they handed me my high school diploma, or that I would cry watching Mister Rogers after he died. I also had no idea I would feel so much pride in helping elect the first female speaker of the house. I never really think about either the advancement of my gender or, really, of politics, but goddamn that's pretty cool.
