So, I was watching "Bring It On" a few weeks ago. In the beginning, there's a scene where it's SmirkyMaleLead's first day in class. He sits down next to Kirsten Dunst, they get all flirty, then she points to his Clash shirt and says, "So, is that your band?" That seems to make him even more enamored with her. I realized that I can think of only a precious few other things that could possibly be more of a turn off than that kind of musical ignorance.
These are not spirit fingers. These are spirit fingers, and...These. Are. Gold.

i actually get dumb comments like that a lot - usually from older women, who seem to find me irresistable. but seriously, no one who is in a band wears their own t-shirts. when was this precedent set to make people think such a thing?

Or just basic cultural illiteracy. "What's this punk thing you kids are always talking about?" Please, my parents knew when punk was happening even though they were driving Volvos in the '80s.
