Went out Wednesday for a friend's birthday and his going away party. He leaves for Chicago in to weeks. Ate some evilly delicious cake that apparently involved the use of no less than 4 pounds of chocolate, 1 pound each of 4 different kinds (Sweet baking, milk, dark, and white). Damn it was good. The rest of the night involved cruising to bars and homes in the back of a limo throwing down sake shots and various other concoctions. Not bad and a definite good time. We ended the night standing on a suspended foot bridge talking and drinking while feeling the whole thing sway beneath our feet. It was comforting, like being in the arms of some gigantic mother rocking us to oblivion. With the help of alcohol...
Last night I saw 'The Village'. Alot of people were disappointed, but I kind of liked it. Did I spot the twist? ABout 10 minutes in I figured it out. SO, yes. But I still liked it. The ending was a bit of a let down, but still a fun movie.
When I finally returned this morning, I was informed of a funny little conversation between my daughter and STBX (Soon To Be eXwife)... They were watching my son play 'Kingdom Hearts' on the PS2 and he was battling a large 3 headed dog. The STBX informed my daughter that the dog was Cerebus and gaurded the gates of Hades. "What's Hades?" asks my 3yo daughter. "Well, that's where some people believed they would go after they died". "Mom... People don't die, Life brings them back. Zeus (our dog) will come back, you will come back, Daddy wil lcome back". "Really? Where does that life come from?" "Mom (in an exasperated tone...) Life lives in the garbage can". SO, there it is... Maybe that's what all those dumpster divers are up to, looking for life. Or the meaning of life. Or half a cheese burger...

And I liked the story about the bridge. That sounds like something you would read about in a novel.
