Wow, well...it's been awhile since I've done my homework. I'm such a horrible student. Maybe I need a spanking ;)
But regardless yes..I have lots of catching up to do when it comes to SG homework so let's start with "Advice on dealing with the haters"
Here's the thing , no matter if it's on the internet or real life there are going to be people who have not nice things to say. Now, I believe that social media has made human beings even more mean than before because they can say whatever they want without any real consequences. Most of what's said on social media would never be said to someone's face, because more than likely they'd be punched in the face.
I've dealt with my fair share of haters..the comments range from as simple as "ugly!!" "Slut" "whore" "go kill yourself I'd you're suicidial" (because I have marajade suicide lol) to some very detailed nastiness about what I should do, how to change my body, how I will never get to heaven because I show my body etc.
I USED to respond and call them out because most of the time they really have nothing else to say and they don't expect a response so by calling them out you've now put them on the spot and made them aware that you saw what they said. Some delete the comment on their own , some say sorry, some don't respond back and some argue.
NOW I don't even respond. I just delete the comments and block the person . I've even had people go out of their way to make ANOTHER account, follow me and go "I can't believe you blocked me!" To which I block that account as well.
I also get haters on xbox live and any online gaming areas I am. As soon as it's found out I'm a girl, the gates have been opened. Most of the insults and hating there though are downright laughable because they are coming from teenage boys who think they are funny. Once I kick their ass they are usually quick to shut up :)
Please don't confuse haters with trolls. There's a HUGE difference. Haters are those folks who just want to be hateful. They are unhappy with themselves and by attempting to bring others down , it makes them feel better and bigger . A troll is someone who deliberately says something that's so out there and so obviously wrong to get a response out of people and invoke arguements. For example "They call it an xbox 360 because it's so bad, you turn 360 degrees and walk away." Now, we all know that 360 degrees means you'd be walking right back into it , and so does the troll but they have now baited all those know it alls who will respond and then the arguing commences. It's so much fun to troll a troll....especially when they don't know they are being trolled back. But it takes skill and talent to both be a troll and to troll the troll. A true troll actually has intellect and knows what they are doing so most of the time. It's good not to feed them ;) But haters...by all means call them out.
If you don't have a thick skin, then avoid social media because it doesn't matter where you go on there, there is going to be hateful stuff. Just delete the comments and move on. I've found that when people realize I don't tolerate crap on my personal pages, they don't hate. I have very little hate on my personal page anymore because I've spent the time to make it known that it will not exist there.
