It seems I have been away forever or only able to log on for very short periods of time. I finally have a quick second to write you all an update.
While I very rarely write super personal blogs....sometimes it's good to let things out or talk about things that are hard to get through. I'll , of course, try to spare you all the boring parts.
Back to school started which means work has been crazy for me. I've never seen so many backpacks in my life! *sings Dora the Explorers "Backpack Backpack*. I've been stock and visual merchandising for my store for awhile now so I have to deal with every little thing sent to us. When you get 40 boxes of backpacks in one day....ugh....I'll just say it's no fun.
Now that back to school is semi over, we have Halloween..which by the way...yes we started getting all of our costumes in mid august. And we put them out next week. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE Halloween but working retail really does make you hate the holidays. After Halloween we have all the holiday shipment and busy time. So needless to say that work is going to start kicking my ass pretty hard lol.
Enough about work...I took a trip to San Diego to the zoo, sea world and a conservation park. I went to see all the efforts these places are putting in to save the endangered species in our world. I had a great time learning about what they do and even got close to some amazing animals....including rescued fruit bats!!! And bats are my favorite animal haha.
After my little trip I returned home and felt the need to save a life so I rescued another dog from the shelter here in town. I honestly wasn't expecting to get a puppy because, well, a lot of the adult dogs never get adopted and i didnt feel i had the strength to deal with puppy energy but this little guy stole my heart.
He of course had to wear a cone for the first few days because they neutered him..so he couldn't lick his balls or lack there of.
He's a Bull Terrier/American Bull Dog mix and his name is Gambit. And he's a handful. Currently we are working on the basic commands and crate training which in turn helps with house breaking. We are almost there. He knows sit but the "wait" or "stay" command seems to be so hard for him lol. We will get there though.
I adopted him about 2 weeks ago and my dog Bella wasn't too thrilled but she's warming up to him. My oldest dog Sugar treated him like he was her baby and was so gentle with him. They started gettinf along so well and then something horrible happened. Sunday this week my Sugar (a 10 year old pit bull) all of a sudden couldn't walk. She was hobbling around and naturally I thought her arthritis was acting up. But then Monday morning things took a turn for the worse....she ended up not being able to walk at all...she was nearly paralyzed. She tried to get up but 3 of her legs didn't work at all. I immediately rushed her to the vet as an emergency and they told me that they think she ate something and maybe poisoned herself and to give it 24 hours. They did blood work and everything came back normal. And I took her home for the night. Then Tuesday it was even worse!!!! My Sugar couldn't even move!! I rushed her back to the vet (which for me to lift a 70 lb dog into the car was hard) and they had to put her on a gurney to get her into the office. They decided to do xrays and that's when they found she had spinal cancer which spread rapidly leaving her paralyzed. I was devastated. I called my husband immediately (he was at a conference for a few days but it wasn't too far away) and he told his boss and left to come to the vet. He rushed over and sadly we knew what we had to do. She couldn't eat, she was whimpering in pain , she couldn't even go to the bathroom because her muscles didn't work. We stayed in the room when they released her out of her misery. I, even now, was heartbroken and crying. To lose my Sugar. A dog I've had so long. Right before she went into her final sleep, she licked my husband's face....to let us know it's ok. We decided to get her ashes in a little urn with a plaque with her name on it. I am still even right now incredibly sad and emotional. It's only been 2 days and I miss her greatly. My other dogs were looking for her when we got home and Bella especially (because she grew up with her) has not been herself.
R.I.P
Sorry to be such a huge bummer for you guys . On a lighter note , I was able to participate in the Black Ops 3 beta and it's amazing. Finally back to GOOD Call of Duty games so I'm excited for that to come out. Also Star Wars Battlefront!!! :)
I also got a new car which is fun ...it was..actually a hand me down but still new to me. A 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT. It's a very good car. And fun to drive !
I've also got 3 sets in the queue coming for the next 4 months . So keep an eye out!
