So ..you wanna know about games eh? You want to know why I like the games I do? Ok then....I'm gonna start doing this more often. I'll try and keep them fairly short and to the point because honestly....there is nothing worse than reading a supposed game review that turns out being a plot spoiler or rambles so much you forgot what you were reading. ...which I'm doing right now huh? Ha! Let's move on.
So I'm going to start this blog series with Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. Why? Because I've spent so much damn time playing it...it's almost shameful lol. (And please pardon any spelling or horrible paragraphing...it's am currently on my dumb phone and for some reason it likes to be a meanie)
Graphics
The graphics for this CoD are extremely smooth and well done. I haven't encountered any HUGE graphical bugs or glitches in single player and only the few in multiplayer which the devs usually fix pretty quickly. All the character movements are realistic and I rarely catch myself saying "wow that looks really dumb". I should mention that I'm extremely picky about graphics. If your attempt is to make the game look realistic...then do so. And Sledgehammer pulled it off.
Game play
Here's where we could argue. I can say omg the game play is great while someone else is gonna say it sucks. It usually has to do with the fact that we are playing different modes. Some people only play the single player...and while that's cool...who buys CoD for the single player? We ALL know the campaigns are like 4 hours long. This campaign was a little longer but not by much. The story is there, the acting is there. ..it's just short. But it's still good.
Now if we move to multiplayer...here's where the fun is. Compared to other CoD games...this one has added in the use of Exo suits. Think about Halo jet packs or how titan fall played. The Exos allow you to double jump, slide, dodge, even hover (if you have that perk equipped). They have changed how CoD is played. It is not just a repeat of another CoD...sledgehammer has attempted to change it up a bit. I like to think I've mastered the Exo suit...making it harder for people to hit me by sliding etc. There are those folks though that hate it and think it ruins the game. So to each their own...I enjoy that it's a new and different thing.
There are different game modes including but not limited to kill confirmed, team deathmatch, capture the flag, domination...the list goes on. There are hardcore and core versions of all those. Core = you have a mini map, target, a entire UI. Hardcore = NOTHING. All you see is you're gun...no cross hairs, no map...nothing. Also in hardcore..the damage is increased so you die a lot faster or kill a lot faster ;) I personally ONLY play hardcore. I can't stand core and that it takes a full clip to kill someone but also I like the challenge of not having a UI.
They have prestige ranks (almost like how you level up in an MMO). Every round gives you experience and you level up and get new stuff. Highest rank was 50 and you hit prestige master. However the newest update now has prestige master ranks. Once you hit 50 for the first time you can enter the prestige master ranks...you get even better stuff and your emblems are gold. I am prestige master rank 1. (I told you I play a lot lol)
They do have a zombies mode where you have to survive rounds of zombies but honestly I find it extremely boring after like 10 minutes. I never liked the zombies and probably won't ever. I'll stick to left4dead if I want to play a game like that.
My biggest complaint would be obviously about multiplayer...the camping. (Staying in one spot for the whole round in a corner like a little bitch) That's why I play kill confirmed or domination the most. It kind of forces you to run around. Games should make a non camping mode where if you stay in a spot for more than lets say...2 seconds..you die. And then the quick scoping. I'm sorry but a sniper rifle isn't a shot gun. And I think games should make it so a sniper rifle won't even fire unless you're a certain distance away. Quick scoping is for teenage boys who can't kill with actual guns.
And last complaint...I buy map packs only to be forced to play them on mosh pit.(mixed mode) They aren't implemented into the regular game. So I can't play the new maps how I want to.
Other than that...it IS different than other CoD games but also familiar enough that you won't be lost.
Marajades rating? 8.5/10
