We recently had a homework to describe our guilty pleasure....mine is probably a bit unusual.
When you hear the word guilty pleasure, I'm sure people's minds automatically go to something sexual...such as "I like to be spanked" or "I like food involved with sex."....While I do enjoy a good spanking my guilty pleasure actually isn't sexual at all!
Mine is TOYS!!! :O I know, I know, doesn't sound exciting....but it is for me!! When I say Toys, I don't mean your typical Barbie dolls or G.I Joe action figures....I'm talking about collector toys, Star Wars toys, Marvel toys, even stuffed animals of my favorite characters. Pretty much anything Star Wars, Dr. Who, Marvel, Adventure Time...the list goes on ....related.
I have built a "toy room" at home where even my doggies aren't allowed in. It is a PET FREE room! I don't need them destroyed the delicate packaging of my toys!
Not only toys but I enjoy "nerdy" books as well. Anything fantasy based, star wars based, etc....sign me up! I love to read!!
Anyways, I have recently gotten a slight...ok, maybe more than slight, addiction to the Funko Pop Vinyl Figures....OMG, they are adorable!!! And sadly I work in a place that sells them and gets new ones ALL THE TIME, so I'm always spending money on them....even when I don't have money to spend >.< Every time we get new ones in, my heart flutters and I get a rush of excitement. I can't wait to get it home and add it to the others.
With the Pop Toys , I do have a few completed sets and others that are missing 1 or 2. I enjoy the hunt for the hard to find ones and most of the ones I own are collector limited edition ones. This includes Walking Dead limited edition exclusives of blood splattered Rick and Daryl plus a 2014 convention collector Headless Hershal. I have the limited edition versions of Jessi Pinkman from Breaking Bad in the Hazmat suit which glows in the dark (not to mention the full set of the Breaking Bad ones), a limited collector edition of Toothless from How to train your dragon 2 (plus the entire set of them), the limited edition Batman Earth 2, the collector limited edition Angry Burnt Stay Puff Man from Ghostbusters, the impossible to find Groot from Gaurdians of the Galaxy....the list goes on.
I also have a few of the harder to find Marvel Select toys and original star wars toys from the 1970s-80s.
ALL my toys remain in their boxes if they come in boxes, otherwise they are kept with all tags attached and placed on shelves for protection from animals (who might happen to sneak into the room once in awhile).
The room is hidden...guests never enter it. You guys are getting a sneak peek of just SOME of the stuff in the room. Not even my closest friends have been in there. Some people don't get it, while others think it's awesome.
PS: I also collect Vinyl records from the 1960s-80s. I have all the original Doors, Led Zepplin, Bob Marley and Hendrix albums from 60s-70s....with original covers.
