Went to a banquet-like thing last night and met some of my favorite politicians. Can't believe I'm actually going to be part of that world in a few months. I felt like I was guest-starring on The West Wing...even though we were at some theater, it was still really classy and I got a lot of good conversation with people who are working their asses off to help the country. Seeing how things work, I've gained a lot of respect for anyone willing to devote their lives to service...even Republicans.
My new boss gave me a book yesterday called "Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation", it's really great. It has stories about various events that took place after the United States was formed. There's this great story about how Benjamin Franklin (my favorite historical figure ever) teamed up with Quakers and Representatives from Pennsylvania and New York to try and abolish slavery. I didn't know that, but of course their efforts were denied by Southerners, led by Andrew Jackson and John Madision.
Anyways, I'm a nerd, I know. I'm missing the SGIndy event tonight to stay here and get to know people in D.C. I feel pretty bad about that, sorry to everybody who wanted to meet me! But I'll be in Indy for another few months when I get back so I'm sure I'll be able to meet anyone who really wants to meet me.
In other news, I'm buying a Pontiac Vibe...test drove one on Wednesday and I really liked it. Though I may go with a 2005 Focus. Depends mostly on mileage.
Well, I have to hop in the shower and meet the boss down in the hotel lobby (hmmm, I wonder if I could get one of those infamous Washington call girls while here...j/k...maybe). Okay, I have to take off, take care people!

So you're coming back here for a bit and then moving elsewhere?
Car advice: maybe I'm biased, but go with a Honda. LOVE my Honda Accord...great mileage, and didn't get smushed in the accident Lowell was in the other day, though the other car was totaled...my muffler was embedded in her front bumper..yeah, a teenager rear-ended Lowell while talking on her cell phone. Nice, really great. Glad their insurance is taking care of it, since it's going to cost almost $2K to repair my car.
If you haven't decided yet between the two, go with the Focus. I had a Neon and it sucked, and a friend of mine had a Sunfire, and it was in shop every other week. Dodge/Pontiac is the devil.
If you decided to go with the Pontiac, then I wish the best of luck to you. You'll need it. LOL! just kiddin, I'm biased to Honda.
Take care, doll.
