Today was a day. Just as tomorrow will be and the next one that follows.
I happen to read some of the comments from the lifestyles board in which one pondered the question 'what is life?' Not to be confused with the age old question of 'the meaning of life' but simply what it is. Life is defined as the period from birth to death and a specific phase of earthly existence. Additionally, it can be considered the quality that distinguishes a vital and functional being from a dead body. Great.
In the sequence of physical and mental experiences that make up the existence of an individual, this so-called organismic state characterized by capacity for metabolism, growth, reaction to stimuli, and reproduction is somehow lost. Of course this is just my opinion...not right, not wrong, but it is mine. I feel that life is nothing. I am nothing. NADA. I am diddly poop! I was born and I shall die. I spend every minute of every breath I take trying to have a life, make a life or get a life. So therefore, it is really nothing.
BUT BUT BUT BUT
I also believe life is everything. It is the house in which I secure myself and the food in my kitchen. It is love and it is hate. It is a touch, a smile, a look. It is a smell, a sound, a feeling. Not of me but of others. They are the ones who make my life. My relationships, friends, family, whether good or bad, are my life. They are what mold me. Shape me into what I am to be. I am just a reflection. I am a reflection of life.
SO what is life -it is a reflection.
Have you looked in a mirror lately?
'.......goodness....I hope I look okay......where's my lipstick?'
