So - I've got a couple of hours of spare time, which is REALLY nice.
Thank you guys SOOO much for your kind words. They did a great deal to boost my spirit - you guys rock!
We're done with the arrangements and such - everyone knows where to be and when to be there for the necessary services and such.
The upside to all this is that I finally got to meet my sisters in law - they are both good people and we're getting along well.
Don't think I don't count myself lucky in that aspect - not everyone has such luck with in-laws
On the occasions that there has been a death on my side of the family, I'm always trying to figure out which is worse - the death, or the family. My immediate family is great - we're close and all - but not so much with the extended family.
TOO many crazy people out there who are my blood relations.
This is, of course, *not* to say that I'm a pillar of mental stability or anything
ANYway - on a lighter note, we were having brunch at a swanky hotel in DC today - the food was excellent, and every time I so much as sipped my champagne there was a waiter there immediately to refill.
I enjoyed getting to know Rob's family better...and it was nice to visit such a ritzy place.....
....but I dunno.
I guess I'm not so much a "Sunday Champagne Brunch" kind of girl. BUT - I can play the part easily enough
So - sticking to this "lighter note" - how about you guys?
Are you comfortable in a ritzy hotel, "Sunday Champange Brunch" sort of scenario?

To be honest ... if I were you having to give the news to your hubby, I woulda said it like this, "Hon ... remember how we fretted over how much it was gonna cost to get granny taken care of in that nursing home? Well ...."
Of course, no ... I wouldn't have said it that way.
But for damn sure that would have come out soon after the crying quit.
I'm such a loser.
