Ok - I've decided that I will not kill the painter guys. I went upstairs to check out their progress, and it looks SO good. I swear - it looks like a different house. I believe I can now forgive the fact that they start work at 8am
Good news from the realtor as well - he did some sort of market configurations, and called to tell us we should be able to get *more* than what we planned to ask for the house.
This makes my husband and I very, very happy
So last night, I had a nearly three hour phone conversation with my Mom. It was pretty cool - we were talking about marriage & friends & the like. It's funny - so many things she used to say to me that didn't make sense in my know it all younger days, make perfect sense now. For example - she frequently said "I give you books and give you books, and all you do is eat the covers." I used to look at her like "WTF are you TALKING about?"
NOW I get it
I think the thing I appreciate about her the most now is the fact that she always promised that once I no longer lived under my parents roof, she would never again give unrequested advice or opinons. She has kept her word - no matter how much she may dislike something I do/say/wear/, she refrains from commentary unless I ask.
Ok - so here's what I'm wondering about you all - is there anything that you heard repeatedly while growing up, that made no sense to you then...then suddenly one day, for whatever reason, you had a "Ahaaa!! So THAT'S what they meant" moment?
