Well - the aforementioned moral dillemma has been solved by a trip to the emergency room - granny has deteriorated to a point that full time care is now required, and leaving is, well, not an option.

You can choose not to be an athiest, there has to be something more than humans right?

I dunno, the way I've chosen to look at it is that humans are limited by the capicaty of our brain, humans can only percieve about 1 millionth of reality as we know it. There are things/ideas/entities/insert 'x' here that exist that the human mind will never be able to comprehend, this awesome wonder to me embodies spirituality/god/religion/insert 'y' here.. I read that Einstein was of a similar thought, that nature/physics=God, just an idea someone had, not original to me by any streatch.
