i'm going to make yogurt! i'm really excited about this. at my old house, where i lived with all the girls, laryssa made yogurt a few times. it's so simple and incredibly cheap. i never buy yogurt because it's so expensive, and whenever i do have it, i'm almost afraid to eat it because i don't want to waste it by not enjoying it enough.
the time has come for my yogurt-neuroses to end. you see, i am going to invest in a candy thermometer, a whole load of coconut milk, and some glass jars, and i will have yogurt forever.
this is the guide i'm using, though it's (of course) for dairy yogurt: how to make yogurt at home. and then, of course, i'll write an sg newswire article about it for all of you to read.
there are cats that hang out around my house. they're strays, but one of my neighbours feeds them, and they all seem to like sunning themselves on my patio. i don't mind; i really miss having cats around, and this is a no-pets apartment. plus, i haven't gotten over the loss of the cat i was hanging out with last autumn. old wounds...
anyway, this weekend the neighbour who feeds them is away and she asked me to feed them for her. i'm excited about this responsibility, but also worried. i can't leave the food out because we also have a family of raccoons that likes to hang out on our patio - except only in the dark. (cutest infestation ever.)
