i love the community here at suicidegirls - you guys are always, with so few exceptions, supportive, wise, inspiring, and wonderful. my last blog was about how discouraged i am with my career situation, and i'll be damned if it hasn't turned around entirely. thank you all SO MUCH for your support and encouragement. i have been working nonstop on the food blog and i have another big project in the works, too.
in other delightful news, i moved into my cute new apartment! it's not totally finished - we still have some unpacked boxes and we don't have a couch yet (i'm holding out for the perfect loveseat) - but here's a photo that my bff lindsay took of it last week:
this past weekend i went to the farmer's market for the first time this summer. i swear i'm turning into a little nesting sparrow. i loved it so much. and speaking of birds, i have a cherry tree in my backyard that was swollen with ripe cherries - until i turned my back for no more than an hour and the whiskeyjacks and sparrows picked it clean! those little bastards! i guess they deserve it.
does anyone know of any good (and simple) patterns to make your own birdhouse? i'm going to paint it like something out of wonderland. okay, am i getting too cute? please don't vomit, you'll make a mess.
GUESS WHAT ELSE (looking@you, corsair) - i went in for a consultation with a clinic in town and i am eligible for PRK laser eye surgery. i've been waiting for this all my life. i've got these great big eyes but they can't see a damn thing, including the soap in the shower today (oops) - and finally i can get them fixed. (as some of you may recall, i went for a LASIK consultation three years ago and was told i was not a good candidate for that surgery - too blind.)
anyway. my appointment's for august 19th, which makes august 11th - the day before my 25th birthday - my last day wearing contact lenses. EVER IN MY LIFE. i was so wary about getting excited for this but it's really happening. i'm delirious. i mean delighted.
AND IT'S SUMMER. finally it's not cold anymore. (WTF was up with that, west coast?)
in conclusion, i would like to thank the ever-rad s_eldorado for letting me live in his rec room for like two weeks, and the cherry for making time to watch true blood season 2 with us, and the lavonne for photographing my tits and hers touching. tit touch.
oh! just in case you haven't noticed, there's a new set of me up in member review - if you want to look at it i would really like that, because i think lavonne did a really beautiful job with it. here are some of my favourite photos:

I'm with you.
You make you're own luck.
(Or people like us do - I do know some other people who I feel are insanely lucky and do NOTHING for it, which makes me extremely jealous of how easy their lives seems. I hate jealous it's such a nasty little thing.)
I'm so excited for your eye surgery - that's amazing! I knew you wore glasses, that I just assumed were for reading. I had no idea that you wore contacts everyday - what a relief it will be afterward to never have to think about it again!
I'm glad things seems to be happy in the little life of Malloreigh. The new apartment is insanely cute, more pictures when it's finished?
