is it time for a new entry yet? is one month long enough? i'm sorry, everyone! i put a lot of time and energy into these sg journal entries so to best regale you all with photos and poetic nonsense about my charmed life, so sometimes it needs to wait a bit. i refuse to half-ass things!
it is now february second. the olympics, they are drawing so near! the city is starting to shut down. bus routes are a-changin', venues are opening, lives are being turned upside down... and i have booked a two-week trip to beautiful, left-leaning portland, oregon, where i don't have to deal with this shit at all. i know, i know - i'm escaping - like eco-anarchists moving to the forest, like the shyster bastards they are - but i feel powerless and frustrated and hell, it's a great excuse for a vacation.
speaking of the olympics, jay black did this amazing photoset of quatchi, one of our cartoonish olympic mascots, homeless in vancouver's downtown east side (for more information read about the DTES on wikipedia). it's fucking brilliant activist art. here's a sample:
(i didn't take this photo. click for the story...)
so, in the vein of photos, i've been going through all my old stuff lately getting things prepped for print. i have never printed my photography. seriously! so, if there's anything in particular that you would definitely buy from me, let me know and i'll do my best to offer it to you.
i cut off all my hair. it's very short now.
and i've been channeling looking like a boy. sometimes.
but not always. i picked up these badass used cowboy boots recently and have been stomping the halls with 'em.
things i have been working on:
- cleaning out and organizing my living space
- seeing old friends
- avoiding the procrastitrain
things i have been doing way too much of:
- tumblr (oh yeah, and i made another one)
it's almost spring here, guys. there are buds on the tree outside my window and i've seen a few crocuses getting ready to peep their heads out.
