what is love? baby don't hurt me...
story of my life, right? actually, one of my friends noticed that there's this one thing that i say a lot when in a beer-drinking party situation, and she suggests that i title my autobiography after it.
WHERE'S MY BEER? story of my life!
oh yes, that's what it's like to hang out with malloreigh. there are a lot of catchphrases involved, as well as loud and obnoxious behaviour. i might be going out for a drink in an hour or so with newer friends who don't know me well; i tend to get a little rowdy when i drink at pubs, and generally talk to strangers quite a bit. i hope they still like me at the end of the night.
so, it's spring, which means i'm beginning what will probably be six months of being on the internet not very much. then again, i'm probably going to be working online this summer, so i might be around more than i think. i would really like to get a seasonal job with a landscaping company or something like that. i'm trying to find a female-owned and staffed company to apply with...
i've been spending so much time with friends lately. some things i've done within the past week:
- gone on a road trip up north to a tiny town (population ~2,500) called lillooet
- jumped into a freezing cold glacial lake (probably glacial, felt glacial, and after all this is BC)
- had a picnic in the cemetery, watched the sun go down
- rode my bike along cherry blossom tree-lined streets, smile on my face
- drank raspberry porter in the park while studying for an exam
- FINISHED MY EXAMS!
tomorrow i'm buying a new bike - a 50cm nishiki 10speed that i'm going to build up into a touring machine of awesomeness. it's basically the same frame i'm currently riding, only my current bike is a bomb-ass pink-wheeled fixed gear...
as seen hiding behind the screens of this pub patio
bike storage/mudroom/solarium at the new place *meow*

anyways...
i've been to a few shows, i caught a show with kaki king and beruit a couple months ago, and last weekend i went to a "secret" show, my "hipster" buddies gave me an invite (i felt special),the yeah yeah yeahs preformed at some random pub(i got to see her felicitate a mic... it was a fucking good time). On friday i went to see janelle monae(she's awesome, she somehow managed to make R&B indie cool), she opened for Of montreal but i left in the middle of their set because i had to catch a late bus back home or risk being stranded in the city.
as for futher shows I got tickets to this cool benefit show in a couple of weeks at radio city music hall which will have performances by feist and dirty projectors and a shit ton of other people that i'm too lazy to look up and mention. The most far off show that i plan to catch is metric... they will be in nyc sometime in june
