So, I have decided that when I get back home I am going to get a job at a bar - bussing/barbacking, hopefully eventually bartending. "What?" you gasp. "Why, Malloreigh? Why work at a bar when you are so well-qualified for a real job with perks and a cushy rolly chair?"
Well, my little kittens, I am the type of person who wants to experience everything. I used to say it was because I am a writer; I need to experience things so I get all the different perspectives and can then describe them or use that experience to make my stories more real. But, I am not such a writer. In fact, I am a kind of terrible writer, and that's okay. I just like learning, experiencing everything. (I will try almost everything once, maybe twice, or more, until I feel I have learned everything I can from it.)
Plus, good money and a downtown location, which means I can move out of my parents' house sooner. Yep, I am moving back in with my parents. I figure it'll give me the time and space and rent-free living I will need to put together my art portfolio and figure out my headspace; but, like most parents, they live in the suburbs, and I am a creature of a small block-radius. I like living in the same neighbourhood as the good organic grocery stores, my friends, my job, my favourite pubs and restaurants.
(Calgary is rather devoid of good stuff to do, but I'll figure it out.)
Ungh. Yeah, that too. I'm moving back in with my parents in the city I grew up in. I left at eighteen because it is NOT my type of city, but I'm moving back there. I need to figure things out, make money, get back on my feet after traveling, get a Macbook Pro. And, strangely enough, my best friend who moved back there before I left Vancouver has just signed a year-contract with a job - and two more friends who had moved to the coast, like me, are moving back in December and January!
So, it'll be a party.
Boy, this is a long entry.
Here's some pictures.
This is Melbourne. It is obviously "the future", as you can tell.
This is me and Rys at Strike! Bowling Bar in Melbourne. We are soooo supa cute. Aren't we? Hey, have you seen OUR AMAZING REJECTED SET?
I just updated to Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) and iPhoto isn't recognizing my camera, so I have to install Lightroom and hope that works... what's a stupid decision YOU'VE made lately?

You tell me what else I can do after hours if I don't drink Plus a lot of my friends work there so I usually just got to hang out with them.

So you're like the job system in Final Fantasy 5, is what you're saying.
