Today I bet on the horses that are racing in the Melbourne Cup. If I win lots and lots of money (or as they say here, 'heaps' of money) I'll buy everyone a present*. I chose the horses based on their names, natch, but I also used my intuition, which has proven infallible** in the past.
Today I also went for a wander around the art store. I've been doing that a lot lately. I walk around gazing at the brightly coloured charcoals, paints, and pencils, the brushes and papers, and imagine all the things I could do with them... if I weren't traveling. And, as I have proven to myself more than once, when I'm not traveling I get too busy socialising to do any art. Sometimes I think that it'd be best for me if I lived as a hermit, but I know I'd go crazy really quickly.
I need to find the balance between my social life, art, work, and "screwing around". I do everything to excess; as a result I never really do anything.
The rain in Sydney is amazing. I don't think I've ever seen rain like this - it pounds and steams and drives, soaks its victims in seconds, with all the passion of a torrid love affair's first fuck. (Speaking of torrid love affairs, I could do with one, but it seems I've become pickier in my old age; my requirements for a lover are so high and include the superhuman ability to crack through my shell, which has thickened considerably of late.)

STEP AEROBICS!
When do you feel most connected to the earth? Is it in a certain season, a certain time of day, a certain type of weather? Is it good? Is it bad? Do you need to eat magical mushrooms first?
What do you look for in a potential lover? A potential friend? How many of these qualities overlap - do you look for the same things in both or do you prefer to have quite different relationships with lovers than with friends?

Friends: integrity, imagination, passion, intelligence, enough commonality for comfort, enough differences for things to be interesting. people who help me grow.
Lovers: see re: friends but add intense chemistry, a deep connection and the ability to differentiate between love, convenience and dependency. I've no interest in either of the latter two.
I don't know if I'm getting pickier in relationships or just wiser .
I look for different qualties in a friend, basically I'm friends with anyone that wants to be friends with me
Those close to me are all so different so I can't have anything particular that draws me to them
