This was the day I moved in to my new place, in my new room... that's the girl I moved in with, Calli, and her awesome boyfriend-at-the-time Mike. These kids were to be my best friends in Victoria that spring and summer.
We got some baby rats...
Went on field trips on the ferry together...
Got gussied up...
And just generally had a really grand time all the time. I didn't work, and neither did she, so we lived a life of general jolliness and shoplifting. We lived in the most beautiful house ever on a hill in Victoria with trees and a backyard and everything... it was really fantastic.
Around the end of June I got a settlement from a car accident I was in back in October 2004 on the way to
Bettina's Halloween party. Suddenly I had money! I bought myself a new computer (The White Queen), an iPod, and started going to Vancouver a lot where I rekindled my love affair with destruction.
Before all that really started happening, though, I went to visit my parents in Calgary where I shot a lovely set with
Rin and had a generally good time. I was single and loving it, and though I didn't realise it at the time, this week-long period visiting home was when I'd meet my salvation as well.
I consider this the time when
Rin and I really became friends... in fact, I proposed!
I bought a camera in July from
nothingcoolatall but it busted just after I took this photo. I hope the Canon repairmen (who didn't see it til April 2006) didn't think I was too vain for taking mirror self-portraits with the last life in my camera... but hey, they would be right if they did.
Readers, meet destruction in the shape of a hipster asshole. The same one who'd been my downfall the winter before - and somehow I thought this was a good idea! Still, my head's never been too good at governing matters of the heart.
In between all the smiles and happy times, I did a lot of crying.
On September 23, 2005, my set with
Rin -
Bubble Kiss - went up.
Again, even though I was love-affairing-with-destruction, I was still technically single, and I had lots of fun.

Times were good - a new group of friends in Vancouver, even as I grew more distant with Calli and my pals in Victoria. I was spending about 50% of my time staying with
Jocelynn,
Linds and
S_Eldorado in Vancouver - thanks so much guys!
I'd somehow gotten - and
stayed - in contact with this guy, who I'd randomly met at the bar in Calgary that summer and, for some reason, had given him my email address. He'd moved to Vancouver a month and a half after we met. We hung out once or twice and found out that we
somehow had a lot in common... so weird. For example, he's also vegan - what are the chances of meeting a vegan in Calgary? They are very slim, FYI. It is beeftown.
At this point, destruction was starting to act pretty weird, and though he was allowed to screw around, if I did and he found out he got all hurt by it. What a douche... but he still told me that his feelings were true for me.
In November I flew down to San Francisco to visit the amazing
sixsixty:
This was the last time we all really hung out before the end of the world!

Then it was Christmas, and something really bad happened and I got pretty upset and decided to change my life for the better. In the last two weeks of the year I made the decisions that would propel my life in the direction it took in 2006, which included moving to Vancouver, never speaking to destruction or Calli again, those fuckers, getting a great job and an apartment, a wonderful kitty, and someone to love who loved me right back.
Little did I know that it would all fall into my lap in 2007...
On December 28th,
Bushido went up. It was shot in October 2004 and so it was pretty old by the time it went up, but I had three other sets go up (including two multis) that year so I can't really complain.
