This promises to be an odd Christmas. My family's about as scattered as it's ever been. One aunt and uncle live in California with their son who's, I think, just about ready to get into school (though I lose track of his exact age). Everyone else except me does live in Iowa, but my parents are 3 hours east of everyone else in Iowa, and all three of my cousins are now living away from their parents - two of them are married with their own households, and apparently they're going to be doing Christmas with their wives' families this year, the other just finished boot camp and may not be able to make it home for the holidays. It'll depend on what the military decides for him. (I really don't know why you would join the military right now, and he really didn't seem like the type, but, ah well. His choice.) My parents have choir things to do over Christmas Eve and Day, so there'll be half our family getting together for an early Christmas and then things are going to kind of fall apart.
Might wind up visiting my parents' house again for a bit, including Christmas, then get a ride back to Des Moines so I can bus back for merely 6 hours instead of 15. (That includes a substantial layover, mind.)
