Okay, so this is really pretty inconsequential, but it's kind of freaking me out. Yesterday I was off work and just got my paycheck direct deposited. So I popped onto Amazon to snag presents for my mom's birthday (the 1st of July...probably not going to reach her in time, but they'll be close) and along the way decided I had enough spending money to treat myself also. I snagged the last book of Lucifer and the recently released third book in Sergei Lukyanenko's "Watch" trilogy of short story collections (Night Watch, Day Watch, Twilight Watch. I don't have the first two yet but have read them, so they're a slightly lower priority.). Right about $20 and free 2-day shipping because Amazon decided to give my mom a free month of Prime for whatever reason, and Prime membership can be extended to four other family members as well. This is mid-to-late afternoon. A couple hours later I'm e-mailed to inform me that my order's shipped. Wow, that was fast, I think. Usually that late in the afternoon it rolls over to the next day. (My mom's presents certainly did.)
So right on schedule for Monday. Yay. I likes fast shipping. If Prime weren't 80 bucks a year, I'd be all over it.
Today, I'm out late gaming as per usual. I get home about half an hour ago, it's dark and it's hard to see but...
isn't that a package inside the front storm door? Why yes, yes it is. Is that my Amazon package? I take it inside, look at it....it *is*. I just got stuff that I ordered a single day ago. I paid nothing in shipping. This is crazy. It's practically as good as having shopped right here in town and I paid a lot less.
If only I could count on that sort of thing, I might never have to leave the house again.

I'm not going to change my screen name. I realized that I don't want to post and not even know who in the heck *I* am. I've been startled by name and profile pic changes of friends before. It's a little disconcerting when that happens.
