I didn't think I'd ever have my mom chastise me for not playing enough videogames. And yet, this Sunday when we were talking on the phone, it did. It's not as strange as it sounds, though. One of my more favored potential careers is that of videogame reviewer. I don't really have any idea how I might get there, but it seems to me that the best start is to put some of my work out there. I've done a few user reviews on Gamespot and here and there elsewhere, but that's not really a lot of exposure, given that some games on Gamespot have dozens if not hundreds of user reviews and nobody's going around checking them for potential recruits. But there's another site, Gamecritics.com, which I frequent. They're not doing it as a job. Nobody gets paid. But it *is* a fairly professional review site, and they do count as press for events like E3, and receive review copies of games free of charge. And the upside of the lack of formal pay is this: anybody can submit reviews for consideration and possibly get accepted as one of the critics. Since nobody's employed there, no formal qualifications need necessarily obtain.
So I'm planning on trying just that. The issue is that I don't have any sample reviews readymade (Gamespot user reviews not really fitting their format or being up to my full standards were I making a serious go at it.). And I really ought to finish a game before I review it. And I don't often finish games, so the ones I'm already done with are far enough in the past that I don't really remember them well enough to review them.
The end result is that my plan is to finish and review Bully for the site. I talked about this with my mom a month or two ago. I haven't actually done it, for a variety of reasons (though I'm making progress! Chapter IV now and counting). So my mom chided me.

I'm still trying to think of a good strategy for your situation. It's coming.
