Picked up my PSP today after work and rushed home full of joy and good cheer. It is in perfect working order, and came with everything advertised. I've yet to be burned on an eBay transaction, but it's always nice anyhow when things go smoothly. It's also a very neat piece of hardware. I still think Sony put it out at too high a price, and I'm not thrilled with $40 as a default MSRP for the games, but I've plenty of catching up to do before I need worry about that.
Metal Gear Acid is a splendid, splendid game. I am enjoying myself far more than I have done with the Metal Gear Solid titles, and they're pretty excellent themselves. I really think it's the best possible first game I could have picked up with the system, especially for a mere $10.
Next on the agenda: get a USB cable that I can use to connect my PSP to my PC. At that point I may have to see about fixing up some custom firmware to homebrew-ize things. Or maybe I'll just copy the occasional movie file. We'll see how sanguine I am about the process.
I also have Liberty City Stories on the way from Gamefly, which I trust will be also very entertaining, though I doubt it will quite meet MGA's standard. I should have preferred Puzzle Quest, but Gamefly went into short wait on it right about the time they were going to ship the next game in my queue, as so often seems to happen. And there will be other opportunities soon enough.
