I went to go see Neverending White Lights tonight with BinaryBitch. Apparently it was this big multi-band (5 or more) thing, so they didn't play until about 12:30...a.m. (WTF?). It was a great show though, there were a few other bands which I really enjoyed listening to.
We actually ended up getting in for free! We showed up around 6 p.m. since we thought that doors were at 7, and wanted some dinner beforehand (they were playing at a restaurant/bar/club/? venue). We walked into the place while they were still setting up, and apparently not serving food either. Hmm...well, we decided to just hang out until food/show time. They never asked us for the cover charge! I figure that they must have thought BinaryBitch was media since she was carting around the shiny camera and tripod. They also didn't say a word when we went up beside the stage, which they seemed to be guarding with security (2nd WTF?).
Don't worry, I supported the band by forking out a whole $20 for a t-shirt plus CD (WTF the 3rd??). So inexpensive! I haven't bought their CDs up until now because I haven't seen them for any less than $25 in stores, and they'd come close to that with shipping costs if I bought them online. Score!
We had to leave a bit early to go save my car from being ticketed (fucking bylaws). I did, however, get to hear my favourite song (and a bunch more) before leaving, not to mention all the other great bands that played.
Said favourite song (The Grace):
(If you think that it's lame, you can go eat a dick. Thanks.)
Yes, my life is so boring that I have to write a novel about a concert night, at 4 a.m.. Hey, it's better than playing WoW all night...or all day...every day *grumble*
