I just had the most wonderful weekend ever. The boyfriend and I took a much needed trip to Napa. We stayed at the most amazing little B&B, the Daughter's Inn. The couple that own the Inn, Brooke and Perry, are one of the best things about Napa. Adorable rockabilly couple. Support freaks in business!
Friday we drove up early afternoon, and had some time to kill before we could check in. We drove up Silverado Trail and hit about 3 wineries. My favorite being Silverado. Amazing view, great wine girl, and fantastic wine in all price ranges. Headed downtown in the early evening, and grabbed a few books at the bookstore (wow, I actually had some time to read). It's only taken me two years to finish the most recent book.
Went to dinner at Sushi Mambo. Amazing sushi rolls and yummy unfiltered sake. We headed back to the B&B and I pretended I had enough energy in me to watch a movie, but I think the boyfriend knew I was passing out as soon as my head hit the pillow.
Saturday after breakfast, we sat for awhile in the porch swing, reading, before the limo arrived. The limo is definitely the way to go. Not so much the limo itself, as much as not having to be a responsible driver. We visited Andretti, Mondavi, Beaulieu and my favorite, Trefethen. They opened a reserve tasting room this year, and the wine lady, Susan was fabulous. She must have poured at least 4 wines for us that weren't on the list. I think this is the winery we purchased the most from. Susan insisted we come back up to Napa for an event at Trefethen next month *crosses fingers*
After all the wine, we hit up Dean and Deluca for some yummy gourmet cheeses and chocolates to take back for late afternoon lunch in the garden at the B&B.
Sunday we had an appt at Cakebread, and I was actually not all that impressed with their wines this year. Just really didnt find anything to my liking.
Last year we managed to ruin a decent amount of the wine we bought, and didnt want to take any chances. So for the drive home, we had the back seats down, wine bottles everywhere, and the a/c up the entire two hour trip. Wine fridge on wheels!
Did I mention jacuzzi tub? Oh yah... jacuzzi tubs... in all the rooms at the Daughters Inn. They even have heart shaped tubs in some of the rooms. Mmmmmm jacuuuuuzzzi
Ugh, ok, bed.... work way too early in the morning. Damn my hellish commute.

I think my sister just went to that place with her boyfriend! How many B&B's in Napa with rockabilly proprietors could there be?!
drnecessitor:
No, it was in the second week of March. Weird, huh? And I'm pretty sure she went to the Cakebread winery as well....
