I'm not sure how to keep this short
I had a perfectly safe trip to Minnesota which was slightly disappointing. My luggage did get lost somewhere between Omaha and Des Moines but they were really good about getting it back to me quickly.
I met up with my friend in Minneapolis and checked into our hotel then headed for the MoA. I won't talk about how fucking enormous it is because no words do it justice...it can only be experienced. We didn't do too much because we were both travel weary. We invited some people we met back to our hotel room, had a few drinks and called it a night. Got back to exploring the mall pretty early the next day and spent a good 6 hours walking around, never really developing a good sense of direction. That was part of the fun though.
That night we took the light rail to downtown Minneapolis to go pub crawling for St. Patty's day. Only...I didn't have my ID so it didn't work out so great. We tried every place in sight but it wasn't happening until we decided to try a strip club near Nicolette. Funny enough, it was my first time being to one. The bouncer let us in without a problem. My buddy fell in love with a stripper and we ended up missing the light rail back to the mall because of it. We BARELY caught the last bus that ran by pooling together every bit of change we had and still ended up having to walk 3 miles back to the hotel.
The next day we went back to the town my friend lives in. He literally lives a stone's throw from Canada with a small river acting as a border. Unfortunately I couldn't get into Canada either.. I spent the remainder of my two week vacation meeting his friends, catching up and partying more than I have in the past 5 years. I had a really good time and feel like I always have somewhere to go if necessary. It's weird to say that because I've moved at least once every year of my life on average and find it hard to settle anywhere, but I felt right at home.
Sad to say, I lost my camera some time during the trip and I'm like this because of it. So many pictures lost..
But now I'm back in corn country, working my ass off on a big job I found about a day after I went away for my vacation. I'm also sunburned..and there was cloud cover all day. I fail at being half black.

Up until a couple of years ago all you needed was a drivers liscence to cross over into Canada from MN. At least you came up here during the start of our warmer weather.

Agreed! From what I heard I managed to dodge Nebraska's last bout of snow and quite a bit of rain. The weather there was surprisingly nice, especially after hearing about the extreme sub zero weather you guys get.
