I think my time here is coming to an end. A new era dawns, and inevitably, things get left behind. I'm investigating how to leave, given that my membership is until August. Maybe I will stay until then, but no longer.
I'm working with mob from Minjerribah (Stradbroke Island) to convey stories of their water rights to the 5th World Water Forum in Turkey.
I'm in love with my man and want to join him living on Country on the Western coast of the Cape.
I'm connecting with community cultural development and living beyond my notion of storytelling with written words.
I'm living, laughing and having fun and I think my time here is done.
I'm thankful for the friends I've made, the support I've received and the stories I've shared, but I'm increasingly drawn to an offline life, as much as is possible in my life and work. I'm all up for a yarn, but face to face with y'all. I'm moving past this screen, which is such a powerful metaphor in my life right now.
Add me on the gmail, facebook, twitter. I'll still be online... sometimes. Send us a message, will ya?
Big love,
Lisette
A snapshot of of the minuitae of my life:
I've been gifted with a new journal.
I'm saving money.
I'm planning a trip to Turkey next year, for the 5th World Youth congress, via Japan (to visit my cousin, his Japanese wife and their two little boys) and the Tran-Siberian.
I want to nest and buy property... land... I want my own land. Up north. In the tropics.
I'm organising a new laptop through salary sacrificing at work. Hello new mac!
After said new mac, I will write again. I will have the tool to ease my perfectionist self into trying. This old shitbag does't cut the mustard.
I'm getting my health sorted. Trying not to work too hard.
I'm saving up to buy enclosed shoes. Campers, I think.
I want to go to Canberra because it's our nation's captial to visit the war museum and national gallery.
I want to visit PNG, work with community, tribal lore, custom, I want to visit the site of the old bones of my grandfather's brother.
I cut up my credit card today.
Going to The Bug feat Warrior Queen tomorrow night.
Planning to break my vegetarianism to indulge in one sacrificial meat: halal goat.
