Another day, another dollar.
Man Hurricanes are sure employer friendly. All of the hurricanes last year happened on the weekend. Dennis happened on a weekend. I guess it doesnt matter what day it is if everything is fucked up huh? I really feel for these people up there. I know how it is to live with out power for 7 - 9 days at a time with no power. Last year I had 3 hurricane eyes come over me. SUX!! I really take heed of these things now. I wish there was a place for people to check the going rate on services. This way people will not get ripped off so bad. Like tree removal. I remember hearing estimates like 6k for something that was only 3k. They would try and scare people into it. Then you have the junk haulers. The people who pick up aluminum and shit, and charge the home owner to take it. They get like $.50 a pound for it, and it is probably higher than this. I know this isnt really fraud, but hey, they are getting paid for this, and people needs to know these things. We need a some kind of disaster fraud education. Hell, they will show us the same clip of a sign blowing away, but wont educate the viewers to what they need to look out for after the storm. A little rant there but I know people are getting ripped off as I type.
Hope everyone is safe.
