Well, it was quite a weekend.
Friday night, I went to a party up in Baltimore, where I spent pretty much the whole evening flirting with a cute little Hindi girl named Sonia who's a friend of Dave's. She lives in Philadelphia, but hey, she's still cute, so whatever. Apparently she's a medical research scientist up there, and works on bio-molecular sensors. Something about polymers that bend when in contact with a certain substrate, pulling nano-scale conductors together. Sounds interesting, though the details are a bit beyond me. Anyway, there wasn't any privacy to be had, so who knows where that would have gone, if anywhere, but at least I got a good massage out of it. I'll make sure to get in touch with her next time she's down to visit.
Saturday, I was supposed to go out with J, but she apparently destroyed her phone (or, more likely, her 2-year-old did it for her), and doesn't actually know my phone number without her SIM card address book. Sometimes I'm amazed at her lack of resourcefulness, all the more so for the times when I'm amazed at how resourceful she can be. But whatever, I would have had to hang out with her boyfriend too. Not that I don't like the guy, but the fact that they've already agreed to break up and move out once their current lease ends makes it a little awkward to be around the both of them. I ended up spending some time at Adam's new place (he lives with his brother and his brother's fiancee) with him, Ian and Matt, playing some Super Nintendo. It turns out that despite my remembered affection for those games, I really suck ass at them now. Maybe I'll just stick to HALO for now.
Sunday, I had a chance to meet the site's very own Aaraa. We went out to a little cafe and sat and talked until it was time for me to go pick up Lauren from the airport (who was up in Boston on St. Patrick's Day, for Maximum Drunk). Actually, Aaraa's cuter than I thought she'd be, and she's a very interesting girl. She's not going to be in the area for all that long, but hopefully I'll have a chance to get to know her while she's still around. Regardless, though, it's nice to get out and spend some time with someone new.
In the nebulous future, I've also started setting up a few plans. I'm still due to be part of Tim's wedding come April 1st (who the fuck gets married on April Fools' Day?) I figure since that's in New Jersey, almost NYC, I may as well spend the day after in the city, and I've dug up an old acquaintance with whom I might be hanging out. Her name is Ingrid, and her Facebook photo is one of the funniest things I've seen in a while:
Seriously. Who the hell makes a face like that? The best part is that she's one of the most down-to-earth people I met in my four years of schooling, so it's not only funny on its own, but also starkly out-of-character. Makes me wonder if she's changed much.
Also, there's an Environmental Film Festival all this week around DC. I have reservations to see one film called End Of Suburbia this Wednesday. I'm always a little sceptical of dire predictions like that, but I confess that that's one I'd like to see come true... I'll let you guys know how it is, anyway.

Amazing what you do at 3am in the morning. And yes, I'd found Cristy's pic. She's in organic or inorganic chemistry?
