Well where shall I begin, Friday was a very interesting day at work. The regional manager, Phyllis, came in early in the morning, had a closed door meeting with my manager, David, and then as she was leaving she stopped by my window and said that she was sorry to see me go, and that David was going to talk to me a little later... After a little while had passed both David and Denise, my assistant manager called me into the office, closed the door and sat me down and asked me, "what would it take for you to stay?" I said well I don't know. I was basically prepared to leave, it was my last day at Regions and mentally I was ready to go to WAMU. Then my manager said that they had two full time positions opening that day and one was at Oakland and the other could possibly be at my branch. I asked how that could be and it turned out that Andrea, the full time teller I didn't get along with before, was interviewing with a manager from another branch for a promotion to Head Teller. So I basically said I didn't know, because the position wasn't a sure thing, he said "well think about it and we'll talk later." So the manager from Palm Aire, Jody, came in to interview Andrea, and it was a long interview, about an hour, Andrea came back to the teller line, David got on the phone, went to some meetings, and life went on. Then Denise called Andrea into the conference room, then it was my turn, she asked me what was holding me back from staying, I told her that Wamu was going to pay me more $ and it was much closer to my home. She also told me that if I stayed in 6 months to a year she knows that I would be head teller at some branch for Regions. So David came back from his meeting and made some phone calls, sent some emails and then they called Andrea into the office and offered her the position of Head Teller with a raise, she accepted. Then it was my turn, they offered me a full time position, benefits and best thing is that they are paying me a lot more than WAMU!!! So I accepted and that was that. I called Teri from HR at Wamu told them my manager had counter offered for more money and she asked me how much and said that if they couldn't go that high right away... So that's the story... I start Monday full time at Regions, Andrea goes to her new branch on Tuesday and the North Fort Lauderdale office now has to hire a part timer to replace me, because I got promoted!!!! Yeah!! So I'm happy I don't have to go to Wamu, I have heard horror stories...lol....
Saturday we got up early, I made breakfast, watched TV, I got my hair cute, went to Burlington and got some new pants and also to Walmart and Cato. Then I came home cleaned, did laundry and made dinner, pan seared steak marinated in mojo with onions, rice and black beans, and sauteed red and green peppers and onions. After dinner I efiled our taxes and went to bed really late...
Sunday we got up around noon, b/c time changed on us. Went to Miami, looked at all the baby things, helped them with their digi camera... then to Chili's for an early dinner, then back to Ammi and Lazaro's house to hang out and watch the Twighlight Zone. Then we left around 7:30, stopped at my friends house b/c I left my name tag there, then home and here I am....
I have to be at work at 8:30 tomorrow!!!
