I don't really make resolutions. I never have, because I feel no pressure to keep them. I give up stuff for lent, and those I have always kept, except for the year I tried to give up smoking. No dice there.
I do however try to set goals for myself. Last year I was supposed to learn how to make all these great soups. I did not make one single soup in 2006. I did however, cook quite a bit more than I ever had. So, it's a success in some way.
I finally decided that I am going to go ahead and aim for a second degree in history, rather than just piddle around until I'm ready to go to graduate school. In other words, it would be somewhat silly to stop with only 12 hours needed and NOT get it. This way will take a little longer, but that means Houston gets to keep me for a few more years than I'd thought. Not to say that an exodus from Houston is definitely on the horizon, but the chance is certainly high.
This unfortunately means that I am going to have to step up my class load, which means I'll be a bit crankier and going out less. This mostly affects MeNotYou, the poor thing.
Things to look forward to: In January--2 year anniversary (!) and what will go down as the best birthday party ever
February: Nothing really. Maybe a fondue party.
March: Over 2 weeks off from work and a trip to Ireland/Northern Ireland/Germany
(for 12 hours)!!!! My birthday is also a couple of days after our trip, and I hope this
birthday is a great one and makes up for the abysmal night I had last year.
That's all I've got planned so far. It's going to be a good Spring, me thinks.
