Thanks. I feel like that's what it was. He's always had issues with his ears, so the vet cleaned them, and Gomez seems fine now. He's eating and running around like a normal ten-year old cat.

If it happens again, then we have something to worry about. Until then, I'm assuming it was just a freaky "let's scare the hell out of mom" thing.
