i'm soooo tired of cleaning my room. i'm at the point were it's all organizing and shit of the sort. not really my bag.
whatever, it has to be done. and with my collegeboy best friend/big-time crush away for five or so days, there will be much less to do around here in this boring fucking city.
you know, when i was in DETROIT, yes i know it's mainly drugs and violence and ghettos, i'd tell people i'm from charlotte and they'd be all impressed, like compared to them charlotte is some big time city. yikes, do they have it wrong.
mostly, my friends and i hang out at all night dinners and caribou coffee and the like. not all that fun. i hit up the clubs, on college night ugggh, and some other fun things, but generallly, there isn't shit to do around here. the music scene is alright, but i'm not always into the kinds/genres of music.
that, and i don't have a fucking car. so i have to have someone pick me up and bring me if it's not bike-able or walk-able or on the effing bus route. not a whole lot of fun.

I'm heading back to Charlotte tomorrow, not really looking forward to the ride. Let me know if you're bored or anything.
Detroit is lame. Try Camden, NJ that's a badass town...I just think a lot of people have a certain image of Charlotte. Let them live here for a year and then see what they have to say.
I've lived here for about six years and I can honestly say I've never been to a college night at any of the clubs. The scene around here is pretty good and pretty diverse. It just depends on what you like, and if you're on here then I have a feeling you'd fit in pretty well.
She's on SG as well, she doesn't use it like I do, but her name on here is Brieatlas. Check her out and say hey. She's in Florida with her family until the 3rd, she's thrilled. She'd probably be more than willing to help out with the cleaning and help you get acquainted with the city. How long have you been in town?
Charlotte definitely gets a bigger rep than it deserves, but it has its badass side. The cops here are dicks-where aren't they-and the 'scene' here has had a few big run-ins with them in the past. I had about 4-5 big shows in my backyard this summer so that was pretty kick ass and we're looking to do another one soon. The closest friends of mine are all from the north, so we all kind of look at Charlotte as a small city but it has its good parts.
I like how you said it's nice to go home, even if it's just to realize how much you like your own home. That's so true. It's nice to be back at the Commonweath (that's what we call our house) and with everyone here. I used to go around without a car so I definitely know how you feel there. At one point I had three cars-still do-but none of them worked. At least I have one now, but it can be a pain especially when the public transportation system is nothing like it is in the north.
I've never been to Purgatory, but only because I was usually working then. I have gone to the SG burlesque show here, but that was about two years ago. I dunno if you've ever checked out the chat on here but I'm in there everyonce and again if you want to check it out. Also feel free to im me on AIM screen name Penn519.
Have a good one..
