oh yeah, when I bought my first PC a few years ago, one of the first stupid things I did was hang around msn chat at all hours of the night. and one of the first chatrooms I checked out was a "Psychic Vampire" room. damn, I still get chills at the thought of how humorless, conceited and dreary that bunch of people were.

at the time I was reading a biography of Anton LaVey and I mentioned that satanists, in principle, despise and avoid psychic vampires... instant BOOT. I went back and asked what the problem was, I wasn't trying to start an arguement and I'm a fairly open-minded individual when it comes to folks who believe in things like "pscychic vampirism" and other psychic phenomena. I was met with a chorus of insults and adolescent nonsense.

who would've thought that a group of young people who profess to having the ability to drain the lifeforce from unsuspecting innocents would be so weak-kneed about mis-percieved criticism and/or skepticism.

one would expect a vampire to be a bit tougher and alot less defensive.

The whole thing about psychic vampirism is that it is a personal weakness. Some people choose to embrace this weakness as a perceived strength but when it comes down to it, they are dependent on others for their happiness and often disregard others when they have gained what they need. One thing I have come to understand, though, is that most people have at some time or another been a psy-vamp on some level at least. It is those who are born with this affliction or to whom have no desire to live differently that they become a hazard. I do believe it is possible to overcome this, though, even if you feel hopelessly bogged down by it (which in effect, feeds the process - a vicious cycle).
