the upper back piece is about that moment of 'ah ha' when you get an idea or an insight, and how that moment is a little moment of timeless bliss, where all walls and personal assumptions of yourself the world disintegrate, like in orgasm, and you are just, ah, yeah, one with everything.

the 'truth' tattoo on my arm is from Moulin Rouge...three of my friends have Beauty, Freedom and Love, from the bohemian mantra...

the 'grace' on my belly was for fertility blessings...I had trouble with miscarriages between my oldest and younger daughters...but I wouldn't give up, they are ten years apart! That was interesting, because when my second daughter arrived it felt like she was just the same little person who had been trying to get through all that time...so that's my favorite tattoo. (I wouldn't recommend a 10 year gap for kids though, toddlers and a teen, sometimes there's a lot of cranky going on! )

and the flower on my lower back is a Flower of an Hour. They only bloom for one hour under moonlight...I had it tattooed to remind myself that this life is my hour...make it quality.
