I shouldn't have even tried to go to work today.
[8:00 AM] There was only 4 inches when I woke up, and the drive to work is only 20 mins. I've got the studded tires on my car, so 4 inches is nothing.
[8:30 AM] So the drive to work wasn't bad. It did seem like there were a lot less people on the roads. Everyone was shocked when I got there, at least the 4 other people that went to work were. I had my morning smoke and got some coffee, sat down and logged into the computer just before the boss decided to make it a snow day. Not even an optional day, just no day. So I had to turn around and leave. Not such a big problem I thought, a half hour to get there during 'rush hour' and now going home, piece of cake. [9:45 AM]
[1:30 PM - 9.6 miles away] Fuck me sideways. That was LAME.
I have no idea what happened, but I sat in the same place on westbound I-70, just east of Kipling, for at least 45 minutes. With my car off. Literally, not moving. Just getting from Wadsworth to Kipling took 2 hours. I finally managed to get off at Kipling and make my way home.
When I got home, there was so much snow built up that I beached my car about 2/3 of the way up the driveway. Had to get the shovels out to clear some sort of path and left her running for about 10 minutes to melt away the snow packed under the car. Finally with my roommate pushing we got it up into its spot. Mostly.

[Edit: 20 hours later] There is a dry spot in the cul-de-sac. 18 inches of snow in the back yard last night, and a dry spot in the road today.
Gotta love Colorado.
