I realised sometime this week that there's so many hobbies and stuff I want to do, but I can't because there's just not enough time in the world. And this really bugs me because I hate wanting to do something, and not being able to do it.
But it makes me wonder if other people have this problem.. and they must, because let's face it, I have a LOT more free time than most people since I rarely do anything after work (any weekday) and I more or less try to avoid going out on weekends so I can do something at home.. so yeah, I try to make more time to do things I want, but there still isn't enough time.
People must have this same problem, I've just never heard people really discuss it. Gaming is an obvious one for me, because I own so freaking many, I've been thinking about selling them or stopping buying them.. but I just can't. I'm not addicted, I just enjoy it too much.. I mean, it's my main hobby. I think from now on though, I'll only buy VERY huge games that I really want.. which will probably cut down purchases by about 80%.
Other than that, there's music too. I'd love to start recording/producing and mixing music again.. just as a hobby though. To do that though, that involves contacts (which I have some) and getting back into remembering how to record and mix.. it's been a couple of years now.
Then there's photography, graphic design and photoshop, which kind of all come in the same category because I'd love to get a nice camera and learn photography, then drive out to barren landscapes and get some great shots & edit them. Plus, it'd be cool to shoot some Perth hopefules and maybe get that green "Photographer" in my name.
Then finally I'd love to read more books. I have a pile of about 4-5 novels to read, and about 6 biographies I'd like to read.. but I just never find time to because other hobbies take up the time.
It's another reason I'm spending less and less time on this site, because I'm trying to spend time on hobbies.
Ehh, oh well. I'll get through everything I really want to one day, I'm sure.
I'm trying to get into a TAFE course that starts in October which is process plant operations, which could see me go up north with the old man & my brother.. I'd love to do that for the money, but personally I'd HATE to be away from home every 2 weeks.. especially if I was in a relationship (which I assume I will be eventually). But I'm sure it'll be worth it to be on ~100k+ within a couple of years and have a house too. Christ I'd love that independence. Not to mention that the 2 weeks off I'd get would give me time to do stuff I want to do! And the money to do it! Agh I hope I get the job.
Here, have some music.
Blackfield -- Cloudy Now (Live)
Porcupine Tree - Normal (Live)
North Atlantic Oscillation - Drawing Maps from Memory
Brandon Flowers - Crossfire (I know, it's pop, but it's catchy as hell -- damn you Triple J!)
Not to mention Chalize Theron or whatever her name is is killing ninjas. Best clip ever?
Opeth - The Moor (One of their best)
Porcupine Tree - Time Flies (I point this out because it's directed/edited by Lasse Hoile, he's probably my favourite photographer.. I mean, I don't know many, but I love his stuff. It certainly helps that he directs Opeth & Porcupine Tree videos & artwork and has edited both PT's live DVDs.
I've actually been looking at getting some of his framed stuff online, but at the moment I have no where it put it and can't justify the price. Love it though.
For the hell of it, I'll add some more of Hoile's:

If you find a way to turn 24h days into 240h days, let me know.
xx
How are things up the hill there? Haha. Yes I've managed to avoid buying a PS3 although it has been tempting. I'd never have time to play it.
I liked the NAO song you posted, it was different! I'm getting mellower by the day with my music though, so even any new tunes I play are pretty chilled stuff!
