Wow, I was updating one of my Linux boxen, when I had to go scrounging for a video card. I never found one, but I *did* find my photos that had been missing since I moved in! eeek

How wonderful. Now, I can embarass myself in a MILLION new ways. I'll gradually post them as I scan them.

Enjoy!

Wow, I slack for a few weeks, and all kinds of people wish me happy birthday!

Well, had to let you all know, but I lie about the specific date of my birthday because I'm usually in a really crappy mood, and happy people wishing me a happy birthday doesn't help. smile Thanks for the sentiment, though! It is this month some time, so I guess...

Well, you might not have been able to tell from the pics, but I had a tail in back. I cut it off this weekend. It's quite a monumental occasion, as I had it for almost 15 years.

Time for a change, though. It's going to take some getting used to. Now, if I can just keep from being seen as a skinhead...

Wow, I suck. I like never post here. Maybe I should work on just posting to my journal site before I get all ambitious and try and maintain more than one blog.

Whenever I think of this, I think of Douglas Adams' quote on deadlines, "I love deadlines. I love the screaming sound they make as they fly past."

Egggg...ZZZAAAACT....leee. smile

yea, i think that was partly why the song was running through my skull, too.

how are you? what are you doing this summer?
madopal:
What am I doing? Oh...the usual: procrastination, more plans than execution, the occasional walk. smile

Seriously, mostly just working (unfortunately not on my own stuff). I think I've also managed to not get together with way too many people I'd like to see. I suppose I should try and get over to that get together on the beach on Sunday. Anyone going?

Hmm...what say we end up making the Mold-A-Rama machines, but instead of dinosaurs or presidents, we get busts made of our favorite people from SG? Wouldn't it be cool to have a wax bust of your fantasy? In red plastic? With the words "Suicide Girls" on the bottom?

Who's with me?

I just got a spam with the subject "not spam."

I give up. The evil marketing folk can have truth. I'll just be sitting in the corner with my copy of Bureaucracy and my old laptop.
sweetavenue:
yea, i really want to see the corporation, too! have you seen it yet?

Eeew. Northbrook. Glad you got out of there. Welcome to the Chicago group...

Disappointment! mad

So, I arrived around 10:20 to get into the burlesque show. I was working too late to meet the Chicago folk at Subterranean, but I figured at least I could meet some people and catch the show.

The line was moving slowly, and I saw some people getting turned away. I asked if the show was sold out, and they said no. But as...

sorry you missed the show.
sorry we skipped on subteranean, i was just mega hungry and i didn't know if they served food at subteranean.
a good way to find out what people are doing before shows is to join SGmidwest.
there's lots of initiation and hazing before you can get into #chatters, it takes about a month, and senior members get to make you there sex slave.

ARRR!!! ARRR!!! ARRR!!! ARRR!!! ARRR!!!

just kidding, it's an irc channel just like #sgchat and #sg+newbies.

also, nice shirt, i dig.

So, I've been thinking about how my Catholic upbringing has conditioned me for certain odd things. Most of them I've managed to shake, but one habit I can't seem to replace is saying "bless you" when someone sneezes.

Maybe it's not just a Catholic thing, but it irks me. I mean, I guess I *feel* like I should say something, but the implied "God" just...

I am working a ton and trying to find ways to blow off steam. Making high schore entry screens isn't as exciting as you'd think it would be. Any suggestions?
