This past weekend me and my family chose to still celebrate my mother's birthday. She died exactly one month before turning 54 years old and as bitter sweet the event was it turned out better then expected. My mom every year would do a huge BBQ on her birthday and since she loved the beach we chose to combine the two into a Tiki themed birthday party.
Everyone had personalized shirts made with their own chosen image of my mother and a poem in the back (my mother loved poetry).
My chosen poem on the back of my shirt. Though I've never been much for religious things, my mom was, so this poem made me think of her.
Couldn't get a shirt made small enough for my daughter but she did wear white to fit in lol.
We had cute cut outs like this to keep things festive.
My dad <3 Was married to my mother for 33 years!! I've always looked up to their relationship as the only " #relationshipgoals " No matter how upset they were with one another they always worked it out and enjoyed life together.
I'll always mourn for my mother, feel both pain and joy whenever I think of her memory. I made a promise the day she died, to make sure both my kids know about her like she always told me stories of her mother.
May my mother look on and be proud <3
