SOrry about the delay in updating...it's been a hectic week.
On to the news....

The replacement computer is here and works marvelously. Of particular note is the graphics card, which went from 256mb iin my old unit to 2gb in this one. Man, can you tell the difference!

Dragon Con was fun. I got lots of pictures of weird people in costumes and folks who have no business wearing the skimpy outfits that they were. Bought a few new books, drank a lot of tequila, and giggled a lot. That show is like watching a train wreck--repulsive, but impossible to ignore.

The in-laws are in town for the first time since we moved to North Carolina. They're actually staying in Myrtle Beach, but drove up to see the new house and stay one night. They headed back to the beach just this afternoon, with my wife in tow. I've got classes to teach, so I won't head down until Friday afternoon. But I do plan to have a relaxing weekend at the beach and get a lot of reading done.

The wife and I just made our Spring Break plans. Yes, I know it's six months off, but we're going to Spain, so I'm just giddy. We'll be in Marabella, on the Mediterranean coast, for a week. It's close to Gibraltar, Sevilla, and Morocco, so hopefully we'll get to see a lot of that fun stuff. I've never been to Spain before, so I'm real excited.
That's it for now. Be cool to your school!

then there is Gibraltar strait where you can stand on a rock and see Africa.
