I ordered a new computer online from Dell 10 days or so ago. A big shiny brand new one with top-of-the-line graphics capability to I can play WoW hardcore Big widescreen monitor to boot. Way too much money.
Anyway, it comes in today, and I put it together, salivating at the idea of a new computer. Mine's about 3 years old and in need of replacing.
It doesn't work.
The wireless mouse simply did not work at all. No cursor, no nothing.
I put in a wired mouse to see if that would work, and the cursor just drifted back and to the right (like JFK!) without anyone touching it.
I'm not a hardcore computer geek, but I am pretty good at troubleshooting. But nothing worked.
So the wife called Dell Customer Service and was on the phone for over two hours, most of that on hold. And what did we accomplish? Not a damn thing. The tech guys seemed to think it was some kind of problem with Windows.
Don't they check this shit before they send stuff out to paying customers?
So they're sending me a new computer to replace the new one they just sent me. In 8-10 business days. Whee. I'm thrilled. Can you sense the excitement in my voice?
Let's hope this one works.
