Whew. Just flew back from Fort Worth, and boy, are my arms tired! (rimshot please!)
But seriously.
We spent four nights with my parents in Texas and finally got the opportunity to see my new niece, born Chayse Erin on May 31st. Bias aside, she's a very well-behaved and adorable baby, and I'm tickled pink that I'm an uncle.
Arbitrary pic:
My parents also behaved themselves by keeping the pressure of of us concerning having a baby of our own. He wanted a grandchild so bad he could taste it, and there's little doubt he wants us to start spitting them out as well, but he's gonna have to wait.
Other than that, we saw a Rangers game, ate way to much food, and did a bit of shopping since we were in the big city. School starts up in only 10 days, so it was time to update the wardrobe a bit to keep up the mirage that I'm semi-cool to my students. My big purchase was a pair of cowboy boots, which I've wanted for some time and make me considerably taller.
Yee Haw!
SO this should be the last trip that I have to take for about four weeks, which is the longest amount of time I've had this summer without driving and/or flying anywhere. I've got to put the final touches on prepping for classes, and maybe I will have a little time to read some fun stuff as well. We'll see.
I'm also hoping to actually make a rare appearance at an SGNC event as well. Now that the summer is winding down, I should be in town more during the weekends, and so we're hoping to head to Charlotte for SouthernBelle's birthday party.
New shirt--AFC Wimbledon, one I've been after for a while:
