I know, I know. I'm SOOO overdue for a decent update. I'm not quite finished with this huge mound of work in front of me, but I am slowly but surely seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
My manuscript should be done Monday at the latest. It's roughly 4,000 words, which isn't really long in the grand scheme of things, but crunching the dataset has taken me a while. It is my first quantitative paper, so I've had to brush up on my math a bit.
After then, I have to get started on this bloody grant proposal. We're trying to get a scholar from South Africa to spend a year at our university, and I've been the one tossed to the lions to do this. It'll end up being 12-15 double-spaced pages, so I should be able to knock it out in short order, hopefully by the end of this week, give or take.
The first wave of tests and grading of said tests has come and gone, so that is a bit of a burden lifted as well.
SubCulture goes well...the first issue's interior art is finished, and Stan is well into issue two. Jim Mahfood has agreed to do our cover (which looks great btw) and I'm still waiting on a couple of pinups before the book goes to press. It should be available by the middle of November, but won't be on sale in stores until March.
Vanderbilt finally got a win this weekend. I'll take it, even if it was over 1-AA Tennessee State.
This time next week things should be a little more free for me...I really am around, I promise, and haven't forgotten about all my SG peeps!
