I wanted so badly to see the meteor shower last night. The pesky moon, being so full and bright, outshone nearly all the stars. And I live in the boonies! Such disappointment. I did see one, though. I HEARD it. For a few seconds there was a turquoise/yellow ball and trail. It was so pretty.

We saw them here at 2:00am in the UK, about 70 a minute. I felt like warm crap this morning but definitely worth it! You can see Mars too right now just beside the moon. Weird to see a red star.

hear anything about mars being as huge as the moon at the end of the month...i don't know specifics...but it will be the closest it has been in like 5000 years.
