hey suicide girls!!
i know it's been a few days since i've been on here... this last week has been so hectic for me.
my job was on the line and still is... and i have been trying so hard to make sure i keep my job.
jobs (especially awesome ones like mine) are really hard to find and keep in today's economy.
anyhoo... on friday one of my friends had his 21st birthday party and it was a blast!!
i got to dress up... rockabilly style.
it was a black and white dress code... which is totally flattering on everyone
there were so many people there, it was insane.
the food was amazing
there was dancing, drinking, and smoking
and there would have been skinny dipping if the pool had been warm enough.
on saturday i had to wake up bright and early (which was a pain in the ass after being out so late the night before) to help set up for my friend's wedding.
(you know... the young one who has no business getting married so soon)
the ceremony was just incredible.
i am such a sap, so i was crying before the bride even walked in.
but she was stunning.
her dress was pouffy at the bottom with little beads here and there...
and a beautiful turquoise sash with delicate embroidery on the ends.
the ceremony made me want to get married just to have something so beautiful.
they did a hand ceremony which really stuck out to me...
and (someday) when i get married, i'm going to have the same thing.
here's how it goes:
In the hand ceremony, the officiant invites the bride and groom to view the hands of the other as a gift.
As an expression that your hearts are joined together in love - will you please face each other and hold hands, so you may feel the gift that you are to one another.
_____ , If you would face _____ and hold his hands, palms up, so you may see the gift that they are to you.
These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and vibrant with love, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as he promises to love you all the days of his life.
These are the hands that will work along side yours, as together you build your future, as you laugh and cry, as you share your innermost secrets and dreams.
These are the hands that look so large and strong, yet will be so gentle as he holds you.
These are the hands that will work long hours for you and your new family.
These are that hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness.
These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes: tears of sorrow and tears of joy.
These are the hands that will comfort you in illness, and hold you when fear or grief overwhelm you.
These are the hands that will tenderly lift your chin and brush your cheek as they raise your face to look into his eyes: eyes that are filled completely with his overwhelming love and desire for you.
_____, Please hold ______'s hands, palms up, where you may see the gift that they are to you.
These are the hands of your best friend, smooth, soft, young and carefree, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as she promises to love you all the days of her life.
These are the hands that will hold you in tender love, soothing you through illness and hurt, supporting and encouraging you along the way.
These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times.
These are the hands that will comfort you when you are sick, or console you when you are grieving.
They are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness.
These are the hands that will give you support as she encourages you to chase down your dreams.
And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.
Together as a team, everything you wish for can be realized.
Our prayer for you today is that both of you will use these hands to build a marriage where all your dreams come true.
how incredibly beautiful.
i'l leave you with that, my dears.
